Every so often, I'm transported to the butt-crack and armpits of America for work. While collecting airline miles has its many benefits, traveling to random places like Grand Junction, CO has its many downfalls...like where the hell to find good food. I felt this way when I was whisked away to Orlando, FL. Sure, it's cool to take pictures with a grown man in a mouse costume who is most probably suffering from heat exhaustion in 90 degree weather, but seriously, the state of Florida isn't known for its food...maybe for its oranges at best. Through the grapevine, I heard about Chin Hua and decided to make the trip out of the comfort of my fancy-pants hotel in Downtown Disney to Winter Park. And the verdict? Dude. BEST. CHINESE. FOOD. EVER. In freakin' Winter Park, Florida of all places. Who would have thunk??? I was in Chinese food heaven. And it being my last day in Florida, I decided to pretty much sample about ten different dishes (yes, I'm a hungry girl...don't judge me!). My favorites: general tso's chicken and the hot and sour soup. (Again, don't judge...I know EVERYONE orders that off a Chinese restaurant menu, but this stuff is legit). Anyways, I'll be back in Florida later this year for a wedding. First thing I do when I get off the plane? Hop into a cab and go straight to Chin Hua for some Chinese foodie goodness! And if food at the wedding reception sucks, ya'll know where to find me... ;-)

One day my husband sends me a text. He's bragging about this Chinese place he found and the awesome tofu it has. He starts sending me pictures of the menu. And I'm intrigued. While I was in town, this was one of our stops. The place is quiet and tucked away in an almost dead plaza - so it's easy to miss. Inside, it is simple and quaint. The food is what makes it here. I would probably get it to go next time because we were the only people in there the whole time, which happens to us a lot these days, but still, I'd rather avoid it. The food was SO good. I ordered the General's Tso's tofu and loved it. And my husbands tofu dish, which now I cannot remember because I'm recalling this all a month later and I only remember what I put in my mouth, was good as well. I would be happy to suggest this and go back here.

As my quest for good northern Chinese food continues, I tried out this gem tonight. I got General Tso Chicken and steamed pork dumplings delivered to my house. All in all the experience was okay. The delivery arrived around 45 minutes which was an understandable time and the driver was very nice and polite. The dumplings were just okay. The Chicken was way different then what I am used too becuase it was real pieces of chicken in the sauce not your typical processed frozen nuggets. The veggies were fresh and well cooked. I don't see myself ordering here again not because the food was bad, but just because I want to see what else Winter Park has to offer in terms of Chinese food. I'm still looking for the perfect place.

Very big fan of Chin Hua. My dad and I go regularly and we are always treated like family. Service is fast and friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. My dad is very particular about his food and they accommodate his difficult requests with a smile. I would recommend this place to anyone.

This is my Chinese restaurant of choice. My family and I have come here since I was a child. The owner recognizes us and chats for a bit when we visit. The shopping center they are located in is dying but it doesn't take away from the experience in my opinion. The food has always been great. We go during the lunch hours usually and I get the Curry Chicken which you are given the option to choose the intensity of the curry. I usually go for medium, and then get an egg drop soup. My grandparents on the other hand both like the Pork Egg Foo Young, both choosing the egg roll as their side. We have never had a bad experience. I have jumped around quite a bit on their menu and had the Peppercorn Calamari which is delicious if you are into squid, the Wu Shu Duck if I spelled the name right, Its been a long time since I had that one so the name might be off a bit. My mom used to splurge on the Poo Poo Platter which is a little grill that you can heat your food up at the table. As a child that was one of the most interesting experiences and definitely one of my favorites. In all a very nice

The only reason why I went to this place for the first time was because I moved down the street and didn't feel like cooking one night. I'm definitely glad I did: this place is pretty fantastic. They're menu is nothing too out of the ordinary, neither is their decor, but the food is great and the hot tea is free. The only thing I would change is that they don't serve egg rolls with a meal, just rice and the entree. They also tend to put on, what I can only best describe as, the Chinese version of Telenovelas on a giant tv, which I think is incredibly amusing. In conclusion: I would give this place a try if you're in the area, but I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to make a visit.

This is the best chinese food ever. Everything is fresh, tastes fresh, and the workers are so polite and sweet. They have ruined Chinese food anywhere else for me and my husband :) nothing compares. I've attended special events that they hold and they are worth the price.

Keep this in mind, I am a New Yorker who grew up going to Chinatown so my standards are going to be much higher than your average Central Floridian who thinks that good Chinese food is purchased at Winn Dixie and comes in a can. The food alone rated 4 stars and definitely has some advantages compared to the garbage served at most Central Florida Chinese establishments. No, they don't serve pork in wanton soup in Central Florida, and they don't either. The eggroll is basically just breading, really thin, and with nothing in it. Again, in NY Eggrolls are fat, have pork and shrimp in them and actually taste good. Not gonna find it in central florida. i asked for no peas and carrots in my fried rice and the rice was pretty decent with a not great but acceptable level of pork. The main dishes were excellent. The General Tso's Chicken is actually chicken, may be the only place in Central Florida that I can say that. The Shrimp and Vegetables were very fresh. They do bring noodles to the table but they are uninspiring. Now here is why I am still scratching my head. It is July in Florida and it was a steamroom in there. I couldn't believe how hot it was. I sent my son to the back to check the thermostat and NO JOKE it was 82 degrees. By the time my meal was over I was dripping sweat. If the AC is out, close the doors until you get it fixed, if the AC wasn't out SHAME SHAME, can you be that bloody cheap?

I've been getting take-out from here for years. The food is always great and a good value. The service is always efficient and friendly. Just their longevity proves they are doing something right.

Way over-priced! We ordered take-out for 4 people. Two orders of General Tsao's Chicken, two orders of Lo Mein (one with chicken and shrimp, one with veggies), an order of egg rolls, and an order of krab rangoon. The most tasty thing was the krab rangoon but they didn't even give us the sauce that goes with it! The Lo Mein noodles were okay, but the chicken didn't taste fresh and both orders of General Tsao's Chicken was 'gross'. Egg rolls were okay and both orders came with little bags of crispy fried noodles that were yummy. And at least the fortune cookies weren't stale.

I don't know why the rating is so low. GREAT family owned business. This is a great place to eat some flavorable Chinese food. The place is always clean. I finally took advantage of their take out service and it was AMAZING. Food was hot and tasted like it was right out of the kitchen. My favorite is the Krab Rangoo and Spring Rolls. I am always trying a diffrent plate and never disappointed. It is NOT over-priced.

This is my favorite Chinese food place in Orlando. Awesome little gem tucked away in a mostly abandoned strip mall. The owner is very friendly and the food is fresh and well prepared. It is my go to spot when I want Chinese.

Love this place!!! I've been eating here for years. Excellent food, very fast and friendly service. Consistently delicious every time. I am obsessed with the dumplings.

Average family-owned Chinese place with friendly staff; however some food items not fresh. We came here to visit after reading multiple good reviews of the place. Ordered chicken broccoli with pork fried rice and egg roll. The rice was delicious!! It wasn't too dry nor too greasy and the ingredients all tasted fresh. The chicken was also good and with just enough flavour to make it 'just right'. However the steamed dumplings? Absolutely gross .. The appearance itself seemed like it had been frozen for months and the meat was plain out disgusting ... So refrain from ordering the dumplings if thats what you have in mind.

On the hunt for Chinese take-out landed us here on a late weeknight. Located in a strip-mall now dedicated to fitness centers, it's not too difficult to find. We ordered Orange chicken (came with a small box of chicken fried rice), large chicken fried rice, crab rangoons x2. My husband really enjoyed his orange chicken, and the fried rice was excellent. The crab rangoons are my favorite things to order, but these were just okay. They were stuffed with cream cheese and chunks of imitation crab meat. I like it better when they shred or chop the crab meat and all the flavors can mingle. They were good, and something I would order again, just not the best ever. Overall, I may try a new place next time but this will remain on my rotation list.

I love this place. The strip mall it resides in is dying, but don't let that turn you away. The food is fast, hot, and yummy. The lunch specials are incredibly generous and value priced. It's had the same ownership in the 16 years I've been eating there. My go-to dish is the Hunan chicken and the crab Rangoon. I've had lunches catered also and the portions are great for the price.

Great place, we're very lucky to live around the corner from this restaurant and have gotten their take out several times since we moved and it is very consistent, which is more important to me than it being absolutely stellar one day and not the next. The food is much better than any other Chinese-American style take-out/dine-in place we've been to in the area. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. You can easily share a dinner item with another person. If you're worried about being a bit last-minute, we've ordered food closer to when they close and it was done just as fast and equally good. A great option for when you may be feeling indecisive at 9pm.

The beef chow fun was really gross. The noodles had no flavor. Plus it wasn't cheap either. It was a huge waste of money.

Great food! Good prices! Try the dinner special~ you get a lot of the entree, rice, and choice of soup or egg roll. Only thing is they are a little slow but it's definitely worth it. The sesame, sweet and sour, and general tsos are great! And the dumplings, yum!

Chin Hua Chinese restaurant is located in the sad, mostly vacated shopping center at Howell Branch and Aloma. (Formerly the Publix shopping center). I have now dined in and have ordered take out a few times, big thumbs up to Chin Hua Chinese! The General Tso's tofo, spicy, is delicious and now the house favorite of hubby and I. Good flavor and nice portion. We really like the freshly steamed broccoli they serve with it. Great dish for leftovers, perfect for lunch the next day. Recently dined in for lunch with a friend who ordered the lunch sized Cashew Chicken and declared it the best she's had around town. Nice pieces of all while breast meat, great veggies (fresh zucchini, mushrooms, etc) huge jumbo cashews and a flavorful sauce. Great portion, egg roll or soup is included with all of the lunch specials, which are also offered on Saturdays. The egg rolls were fresh, rolled in the spring roll wrappers so they were nice and crispy. I also ordered the shrimp rolls (2 per order, a spring roll wrapper filled with seasoned shrimp.) knowing my friend would like them and she did rave about the tasty app. I ordered the spicy Kung Pau shrimp this go around and was very pleased. Nice shrimp, nice fresh veggies and a great deal for lunch. Ordering "spicy" had nice flavor, but was missing a lot of heat. (FYI) Brought home the General Tso's Tofu, spicy, for the hubby who was once again, very happy. Service was great, there were a few other diners in for Saturday lunch and a steady stream of take out orders being called in. Thanks again, to Yelpers for reviewing this gem and the Yelp app for pointing it out to me. Thumbs up!

I've ordered from this place 3 or 4 times. The food is good and the delivery is pretty quick. They've been consistent and they always get my order right. I've had better Chinese that's why I'm not giving them a 5 but they are better than average. Worth the money.

We've been eating at Chin Hua for over 13 years and still love it. Their beef is tender, fine cuts of meat and the fish is perfectly cooked. The tofu dish called Ma Po Tofu is very flavorful! We have enjoyed all of the dishes we have tried over the years. And we especially look forward to the Chinese New Year buffet!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
